    Canadian Tire’s dealer contract marks new era of cooperation

    Canadian Tire & its dealers have reached an agreement on a new contract which will be in force until 2024

    The final “phone-book-like” contract was uncharacteristically liberal this time around, said Mr. Deplaedt, who owns a store in Saskatoon and has headed the association for the past 18 months.

    This time, the threat comes not only in the form of bricks and mortar businesses such as Target but from online giant Amazon Canada, which is steadily shaving away at traditional retailers’ market share in small home appliances, power tools, home decor and organization, and electronics
